Angela Wilcox
Angela Wilcox is a native of Cordele, GA. She the daughter of the late Mrs. Emma Glenn. Angela is a 1989 Graduate of Crisp County High School. Upon graduation, she became a certified leasing consultant and worked for several years in Atlanta, GA. Presently, Ms. Wilcox is employed by the Crisp County Board of Education as a bus monitor and substitute teacher. Moreover, she is the founder and CEO of Schwann's Ministry, a Brain Awareness movement.
Angela is the proud mother of three handsome sons, Mico, Rico, and Jaykee. She is also the grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren.
My Story
Angela was diagnosed with a Schwannoma brain tumor in 2009. She endured a eight hour craniotomy surgery, followed by six rounds of radiation, and numerous hearing, ophthalmic, speech and physical therapy treatments to recover from paralysis. Through much prayer, hope, and confidence in God, Angela did not allow her condition to leave her handicapped.

After a year in recovery, Angela began to reach out to different individuals and organizations for support in dealing with her brain condition. Needless to say, she received very little guidance, direction, or support. Angela continued to search for ways to educate herself and others about brain tumors and other brain related conditions. She began to host community brain awareness events and shared her own story to educate and encourage others who suffered from the same or similar brain conditions. In 2018, Angela's Brain Awareness movement was birthed to share a simple message with others, "Your Brain Matters"!

Angela uses her own personal finances to sponsor and promote Schwann's ministry events. She hopes to encourage and motivate others to take care of their bodies, be aware of their health status, and to know the signs and symptoms of potentially serious brain conditions. Brain Awareness may not mean much to others but to Angela, "Brain Awareness is the difference between and Living"!
